The kid's fishing derby has been an annual event for over 30 years. In 2006 we moved the derby to it's new location at Camp Thorpe Pond in Goshen, VT. The derby is free and open to the public. Donations are graciously appreciated at the gate. Registration starts at 8am. Fishing starts at 10:15am.
Many other activities are available to kids and parents alike. There is a grease pole where the best climber wins $20 attached to the top of the pole, several cake walks, casting contests in the pool, 3-D shooting donated by the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Dept. Many prizes are given away during the derby, including: fishing poles, creels, nets and lures. There is a Chinese Auction with many donated items from local businesses. A fun time for all, rain or shine!
Free lunch for those registered. (hot dog, drink, mini candy bar) Chicken BBQ and other food and drink is also available.
